Support The Work

Two houses. One family.

One station, two houses. Concrete Jungle Radio is a commercial station that pays its own way at concretejungleradio.com. The Bronx Resource Desk — this site — is its charitable project, and it belongs to the neighborhood. Support wears a different shape in each house; this page lays out every shape honestly and walks you to the right door.

It begins with the Founder’s Why — a door once shut on the man who built this station, and his vow that it open for everybody else.

For Neighbors

Hold up the Desk

The Desk’s work is verification, done by hand. Its 47 resource listings — food pantries and meal sites, benefits offices, markets, and the online finders that lead to them — were each checked against an official source on October 29, 2026, and each is published with its check date and a call-ahead line, then re-checked as it ages. La Palabra del Campeón, the broadcast language course, has five episodes in the station’s rotation. And the Desk is building eight lanes of help in all — housing, health, transit, elder safety, work, and civic life among them — each one published only when it is verified.

Support for the Desk is what makes that work possible: the hours of checking behind every listing, the production behind every episode, the building behind every lane.

Until the giving door below opens, the strongest help a neighbor can give the Desk is to use it and correct it: share a listing with someone who needs it, and call the request line — (929) 531-4762 — with a resource tip or a correction. Every tip is checked against its source before it is published.

The straight talk on giving to the Desk.

Work to put the Desk under formal fiscal sponsorship — so that gifts to the project can one day be received and receipted through a sponsor — is in preparation. That sponsorship is not in place yet, and Concrete Jungle Radio is not a registered nonprofit. So this page carries no donation button today, on purpose: a gift made now would not be tax-deductible, and we will not dress that up. The day the sponsorship is signed, this page will say so, plainly — and that door will open then.

For Listeners Everywhere

Hold up the station — the Jungle Circle

Listeners keep this station — and this Desk — on the air through the Jungle Circle. Suggested support is $5, given on the station’s own page at concretejungleradio.com.

Where the money goes: straight to keeping the station running — the stream, the music, the hosts from the neighborhood, and the resource desk: real, checked listings for food and help right here in the Bronx. Every dollar goes to the air.

The distinction, in plain words: the Circle is support for the station — a straight gift to keep community radio on the air. It is not a charitable donation to the Desk, and it is not tax-deductible: we’re not a registered nonprofit yet, and we’d rather tell you that plainly than dress it up.

For Bronx Businesses

Businesses: stand with the Bronx

Local businesses hold up this station as sponsors, and stand in the public Bronx business directory as neighbors. That is business, and it is run as a business — on the station’s own commercial floor at concretejungleradio.com, kept entirely separate from the Desk. No advertising is sold through the Desk, ever. A business that wants to stand with the Bronx starts at the station’s door:

The Founder

The man behind the Desk

Arthur Brown — Siw’eL Tunes — built this station himself, programs it daily, and carries the Desk. His story, the commercial wall that keeps this project honest, and the Why the whole Desk teaches from live on the About page.
