About This Desk
One big family. Different costumes, same heart.
The Bronx Resource Desk is the charitable project of Concrete Jungle Radio, an independent internet radio station broadcasting free, around the clock, from the Bronx, New York, since October 11, 2026. The Desk is the station’s second job: a reference desk for the borough, run on one rule — verify first, publish second, never print a guess.
The Founder
Arthur Brown — Siw’eL Tunes
Arthur Brown is a Bronx-born musician (performing as Siw’eL Tunes), and the founder and Program Director of Concrete Jungle Radio. He built the station himself, programs it daily, and carries the Founder’s Why the Desk teaches from: planted in the Bronx without the language, support passed him by — doors that should have opened stayed shut, and sometimes they were shut deliberately, language used as a wall when the difference should have been celebrated. He wishes that on no English-speaking American and no foreign national. The Desk exists so nobody in this borough stands in that silence again.
The Desk serves everyone the information has been failing: Spanish-speaking elders facing English-language systems; English-speaking neighbors facing Spanish-language doors; families choosing between a pantry’s hours and a shift’s hours; seniors alone with a phone and a scammer on it; tenants, riders, patients, and applicants of every kind.
How The Desk Is Kept Apart
The charitable project and the station, kept separate
Concrete Jungle Radio also runs a commercial operation: local businesses support the station through sponsorships. That operation is entirely outside this project. The Desk is the station’s charitable work — the eight lanes, their production, verification, publication, and outreach — and the two are accounted for separately, by design. No advertising is sold through the Desk, ever. And the Desk never claims that Concrete Jungle Radio is a nonprofit or a 501(c)(3), because it is not one.
Work to put the Desk under formal fiscal sponsorship — so that project gifts can one day be received and receipted through a sponsor — is in preparation. That sponsorship is not in place yet, and nothing on this site should be read as claiming it.
Support The Work
The Jungle Circle — $5
Listeners keep this station — and this Desk — on the air through the Jungle Circle. Suggested support is $5, given straight through Cash App: cash.app/$siweltunes/5.
Where the money goes: straight to keeping the station running — the stream, the music, the hosts from the neighborhood, and the resource desk: real, checked listings for food and help right here in the Bronx. Every dollar goes to the air.
The straight talk, up front.
Honest answer: we’re not a registered nonprofit yet, so a gift isn’t tax-deductible right now. It’s a straight gift to keep community radio on the air. We would rather tell you that plainly than dress it up.
Talk to the station — a resource tip, a correction, a shout-out — at the request line: (929) 531-4762.
Every Way To Help, In One Place
How to support the Desk and the station
Neighbors, listeners, and Bronx businesses each hold this work up a different way — and each way is kept honest and separate. The Support page lays out all of them: where charitable giving to the Desk stands today, how the Jungle Circle keeps the station on the air, and where business sponsorship lives.
